Happy, Happy 1st Birthday!

After dinner the camera came out- can't believe they are already a year old!!

A few little watermelon stains from dinner, but those are about to be covered up with something much sweeter!

We went for simple cupcakes- one with blue frosting and one with pink frosting and the parents had white frosting. We went with yellow cake and a cream cheese with whipped cream frosting- I was trying to decrease the sugar as much as possible since they don't really eat refined sugar. The flavors were delicious though I think they just enjoyed the whole experience and the texture of the frosting most of all.

Sadie's pink cupcake and a picture of Mom's growing belly- our new brother will arrive September 20th- it was scheduled today!

Not sure what the cupcakes are....

A first taste test....

Sadie liked the way it felt and went in with both hands...

She pulled her cupcake onto her lap and then couldn't get to it- so we had to adjust the situation!

The pink frosting was transferred from Sadie's cupcake after Wes' treat needed an adjustment as well. He started out being very clean and careful.

The face to remember- just how wonderful a birthday should be!

Victory!! The cupcake has been destroyed!!

See the little blue hand in the corner? Wes wanted a little more after Dad took the rest of his cupcake away- we didn't want them to get sick stomachs. It was a very fun evening and while we don't wish for time to rush by, we are excited to see how they will grow and change in the year to come.

So Fun To Be One!!

Wes is a walking man now!

He started when he was around 11 months- they still seem too young to me to be walking- but he is doing so well now.

Sadie riding her horse!

They are getting so big! Where has the time gone?!

So Many Things To Do

We like this farm toy- and now that Wes is getting bigger he has found a new way to play with it.

He slowly rocks it and gradually tips it over- I didn't get a good picture, but his little feet are kicking in the air behind him. I had to rescue Sadie- her feet got caught under the farm this time, she wasn't hurt, just stuck.

He re-arranges himself so his feet are on the ground and then he can play with everything.

They both like to climb inside the farm and they work pretty well together when they both want to sit inside at the same time.

He can spend a while inside the farm- turning the lights on and off, turning the music on and off- it feels like his own room I think.

This is the cutest and biggest reason why taking pictures of our family is getting to be more of a challenge. She sees that it has a light and buttons AND a strap- this has to be a Sadie toy!

Sadie is so wonderful- I love her laugh and smile- which I hope can be seen behind the wipe. She loves to empty containers, unload bags- unload anything for that matter. And now that she knows how to open every wipe package she can have fun anywhere!

Aunt Amanda gave us these shakers and we love them!!

She loves to unload anything- including the diaper bag which was accidentally left within her reach.

Another day inside the farm- hard at work.

Fun in the Evening Time

Wes is looking for Dad

He can't find him, but he was sure he was under there....

Oh- that tricky Daddy!!

Sadie loves to ride this horse. Thanks to Uncle Chad and Aunt Sara for this great toy!

Later that night Sadie helps Mom organize the stamps.

A Pasta Dinner

Last night pasta was served for dinner. I was at work and Buck sent me these pictures. I'm not sure about the stunned expressions- but this way we capture the dynamic duo!

Here is the smiling and happy Wes!

He is a much more focused eater and isn't quite as messy as his sister.

Sadie is such a doll and is more artistic in her eating style!

When I saw this picture I could almost hear her little laugh!
