A little elf told me...

So, the other day at work- or Christmas of 2008, but what is time really, I got an e-mail from my husband with this picture and the caption- Buck baking holiday cookies while his wife is at work. While I loved the picture and the effort to get all dressed up, I was a little concerned about the condition of the kitchen, since the last time he baked-

the kitchen looked like this- and yes, my kitchen does come with Costco sized white and brown sugar and flour "so we don't run out", the purchaser of those products is below- thank goodness he's so cute!

Maybe I should explain why he happened to have a complete elf costume on hand- for Halloween 2007 we were elves- and we did actually have one person ask us what we were- who are these people? I thought we looked great!

So wanting to spread a little Christmas cheer with his wife at work- he sent me the picture to make my day! And for posterity I included the other versions of the elf costume- for those holiday quick changes!

But let's be honest- who can resist this?

Uncle Buck

Such love for Uncle Buck. He has been loved from the moment he came into the family. Here he is with Randall and Amber's kids in January of 2009- they were watching Flushed Away- otherwise known as Flushed in the toilet!

Benton's Birthday 2008

From Benton's birthday in January of 2008- this was the best filling I have ever made and I have not been able to duplicate it since!

Cute cake, cuter girls

Here is a fun cake made by the two Ashley's- they did most of it on their own- such talent!

Happy Birthday Marianne

We made these little dresses for Marianne's birthday, also in March 2008.

Happy Birthday Bill

Happy Birthday Bill! This was in honor of his childhood superman cake- it was Buck's idea to make this for his. March 2008

My Husband

This is us in August of 2008- yes, I realize how far behind I am- thus the blog, goodbye cute scrapbooking. We are at the wedding of Jessica and Brandon- I worked with both of them at Banner Baywood and he has recently returned home safely from Afghanistan. We are grateful for his service and safe return and enjoyed their beautiful wedding- it was fun to get all dressed up!

A Baby Shower

Here are the only pictures I took Brittany's baby shower- none of the mother-to-be, oops. We have such cute nieces. Though I don't have pictures to prove it- the shower was beautiful and baby Macey is adorable!

Party Cakes

Here is the yummy spread at Jessica's bridal shower that was hosted at As You Wish.

A Bridal Shower 2008

Our finished products- not bad for free hand!

Jessica, a friend from the hospital was getting married on 08-08-08 and so we threw her a little party. This has to be one of funnest showers I have been to. We went to As You Wish pottery studio and painted and ate and laughed- my kind of party! We each painted an ice cream bowl for the bride-to-be so could have something to remember this day, and of course another reason to eat ice cream- as if anyone really needs a reason!!

A Baby shower for Amber 2008

Here are some of the cutest young women in the world!

I love all the hands in this picture- that's what we spend so much time trying to teach- it's easier if we all work together!

No task is too great for the young women! This baby quilt took some effort, and even a little bit of blood- gross, I know.

Happy and Delicious Halloween!

Cute cupcakes thanks to my fun book from Phyllis- the young women made owls and pumpkins! Mariah's cupcake almost didn't make it into the picture- that is an amazing tongue you have there!

Becky with her chocolate and albino owl- always the trent setter!

Jackie with her crafty goodness!

Girls Camp 2008

With my ever-creative mia maids!
I just love these crazy girls!!
Did I mention that it rained a lot this year?

Someone had to sacrifice for the picture:)

Working hard to get more water- and it's Sunday- did you notice the skirts?

I'm still just learning- I will rotate the picture next time- who new you couldn't now?- this is Mariah being fabulous in our cabin decorations

Got Braids?

Happy Leaders make Happy Campers!

Hello Gorgeous!!

(can you say it like Barbara?)

Camp LoMia with Trena, Shauna, myself and Angie- the funnest girls there!

Once upon a time...

Most great stories begin this way, and since we have a great story- I thought it only fitting. This blog is dedicated to our little family- everyone was making blogs, and everyone kept saying "you can print them and make a book" but all I saw were lots of blogs, and no books- until last week. I saw a book- and it looks easier than scrapbooking since all the photos are digital now anyway. So- enjoy our stories and if you will leave a comment, please make it a pleasant one. Bytheway, this picture is from 2007 when we were hiking the Peralta Trail.
