Mom and Wes

Mom and Sadie at 3 weeks old

So many pictures have this one piece of hair hanging in front of my face- Buck was so focused on trying to catch the kids with cute expressions on their faces and good lighting that he didn't even notice the strand of hair- when my mom came in she told me right away to tuck it behind my ear- just another reason it was great to have my mom here- an extra pair of hands and an extra pair of eyes!

Our first photo shoot

This was one of the last pictures that we took- we were so exhausted after holding lights and trying to pose sleeping babies- this quick snapshot at the end was my asking- to make sure that we got a picture with the four of us, even if we were not at our most beautiful. The next day I turned 30 and found 2 gray hairs- I pulled them right out!

We started with Sadie being awake and Wes sleeping- they are wearing the same size of onesie.

Then, Wes woke up and Sadie fell asleep.
Since Sadie had her accessory we have Wes his favorite accessory- he isn't so attached to the soothie but he does like to have it.

This is Wes after we took the soothie away hoping that we could catch a smile- as you can see that plan did not work. And, it would not be a family picture session if someone wasn't crying.

A few of my favorite things

Sadie, age 1 week, likes to cuddle and usually reaches one arm out to rub my back while I am burping her. Her Dad says her touch is so light that it tickles him.

Sadie likes to cuddle under my chin and fall asleep.

Age 1 1/2 weeks, whether awake or asleep, Sadie moves her arms around as if she is conducting music. In this picture she looks more like the Statue of Liberty! So cute!

She likes to sleep with one or both of her arms behind her head- age 3 weeks.

Sadie loves the swing, whether it is swinging or not. Who can blame her? It looks so comfortable we wish we had one in our size!

A few of my favorite things

Wes, age 3 weeks, really likes this bouncy seat and he likes to be bounced by his Dad while in his bouncy seat.

Wes, age 2 weeks, does not like the swing very much.

Age 2 weeks, likes his pacifier and we think it is very smart of him and adorable too how he holds it in place with at least one hand, sometimes two.

I think he is just adorable! Dad will want to fix the coloring on this picture, but I love it anyway!

Our relaxed little man! Age 3 weeks.

A case of mistaken identity

Wes was fully aware that he was on a pink blanket belonging to Sadie, and there was nothing we could do or say, except take him off it, to make him feel any better.

He really is such a happy little man, who knew the effect a pink blanket would have on him?

Some funny moments

That is the look of a near miss- my Grandpa was visiting and was on his way to a baptism and so was wearing a lovely white shirt and tie- he had just handed Sadie to me to take a picture when she had a blow out! I really love these little ones and am grateful Grandpa escaped unscathed!

Behind that happy face he is thinking, "How did a good looking fella like myself get into a situation like this?" One the other hand, this is a rare picture of both babies having their eyes open- they really are easy babies, so content and happy.

Tanya had just barely walked in from the airport and Sadie found a new friend.
