Another picture from the 9 month photo shoot- I just love their faces!

We're 9 months old today!

Sweet Sadie- the dusting on her nose is pollen. I decided to take these pictures myself instead of hiring someone- I don't know that I will do that again because it was a lot of work and they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped- and I thought using the jasmine as a backdrop would be wonderful and the kids thought it was wonderful to eat the flowers and leaves. I will miss the jasmine as we prepare to move from Arizona to Oklahoma- I plant I hope to have again one day.

His expression makes me laugh! Sorry for the tire in the background- I just kept telling myself, at least you are taking the pictures to mark the day- next time they will be better!

Sadie climbing up me to get to the camera- she has the strap in this picture and is quite pleased with herself.

Wes is very alert and aware of what is going on- a landscaper and crew had just stopped at a house down the street- he was interested in nothing else while they were there.

Such a cute head- we are still waiting for the hair to grow in. Sadie does not like to wear headbands or bows- I think she is so cute without them!

At least everyone is looking in this picture!

Alone Time

I read several books before Wes and Sadie were born on various topics related to raising children and twins specifically. In one book it was suggested that children should be allowed to play in an environment where they have access to all the toys or books without another child being present- to foster independence. The book suggested using a large laundry basket or play pen to accomplish this- so, I gave it a try. At first the kids thought it was fun to be in the basket and I would push them around the house and give them fun toys inside. That lasted a very short time because they really like to play with eachother and whomever is not in the basket simply crawls over to the basket and they keep playing together!

He dropped in the toy he was playing with- what Sadie now holds in her hand and mouth, and he is going after some toys in the basket. It was worth a try- maybe we will try the alone time when they are older and I take just one of them on an outing- for now, it blesses us all that they love to play together!

Feeding Ourselves

I can't remember how old they were when they started to pick up food and feed themselves- it's written down somewhere. This is not only a welcome event for the parents it is also a blessing to see that the brain and muscles are all working together and that they are developing normally- we think above average but what parent doesn't?!

A Typical Scene

Sadie is playing near the jungle mat and is quite happy.

Wes is trying to decide which book he wants to look at by tasting them all first.


He is enjoying his book and the fun pop-ups.

Sadie decides that she also needs to look at the book that Wes has- it appears that none of the other books will do.

Sadie successfully takes the book, Wes is stunned- though I am not sure why as this happens daily if not multiple times a day.

He tries to get the book back. He is much stronger than Sadie though he hasn't figured out that he really can over power her. This is something I know he will learn one day.

This is out of order and sideways- but it shows that at the end of this he finds another toy and is happy- he really is a content little boy.

Seeing that he cannot regain possession of the book, he moves on to a different toy.

Sadie- no longer interested in the book, is happy and playing again.

In other news- we had a trip to Costco that day. We use one large can of formula every 2 1/2 days- so this won't quite make it 2 weeks. This is the amount of cans and diapers that I can balance on the stroller when I go by myself. When Buck goes he really stocks up!

Little Miss Sadie


Wes- he was laughing so much the entire time and this is about the only picture I took with the toys out of his mouth- we are so lucky to have these babies!

Jaque's Wedding

My cousin Jaque was married in February of this year. Buck was busy with school and so I took the twins by myself. I had us all dressed really cute and even managed to take the camera all the way- however this is the only picture I have from the event. Grandpa, MaryJane and Aunt Marica- don't they look wonderful!
